HOW IT WORKS
Use our app to find, reserve, and unlock available Veemo velomobiles. A live map makes it quick and easy to locate the closest one to you.
Once you're inside, it’s just like riding a bike - just pedal your way to your destination. When you're done your ride, simply park the Veemo velomobile at our designated parking spots.
Veemo velomobiles can be picked up or dropped off at one of 12 parking zones around UBC, marked by Veemo parking signs. You can find parking spots on the Veemo mobile app or on the navigation screen when you’re riding.
HOW DO I RIDE?
Pedal forwards or backwards to move the vehicle. Adjust the electric-assist if you want an effortless ride or a light workout.
Veemo handlebars work just like a normal bicycle, with a few extra features like heated grips, turn signals, and a horn.
Squeeze the brake levers on the handlebars, just like you would on a bicycle. Brake and reverse lights included!
WHERE CAN I RIDE?
Veemo velomobiles are legally classified as motor-assisted cycles, which means you’re allowed to ride on the road.
Veemo velomobiles are allowed to ride in bike lanes. If a bike lane is available, please make sure to use it.
Sorry, riding on sidewalks is not allowed. Stick to the streets or bike lanes.
Veemo members are not allowed to ride through Main Mall and a section of University Blvd. You run the risk of being ticketed by UBC.
Veemo velomobiles are not off-road vehicles; please stay on roads and bike lanes.
HOME ZONE & PARKING MAP
The home zone is the service area where you can ride Veemo. The home zone boundaries are viewable on the navigation screen,on the online map, and through the Veemo app. During the UBC pilot, the vehicle must remain inside the home zone during your trip. If you want us to expand our home zone, let us know!
